Academic Honors Award |
At North Scott Junior High, there has been a longstanding tradition of honoring academic achievement. An awards assembly is held in May of each year to honor students for academic achievements. Invitations to the honors ceremony will be sent through US mail in April.
7th & 8th Grade Information:
For all students, the honors are based on academic achievement during the fall semester of the current school year. Academic Excellence is awarded to those who earn a 4.00 grade point. First Honors is awarded to those with a grade point between 3.750 and 3.999. Second Honors is awarded to those who earn a grade point of 3.5 to 3.749
President's Academic Excellence Award8th grade students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout 7th grade and the first semester of 8th grade, in addition to scoring in the 85%ile or higher in math and/or ELA on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). We will use the score from the students’ 7th grade year due to the fact we don’t take the ISASP until late Spring. *School administration reserves the right to make adjustments based on special circumstances. |
